BioFach Japan, the oldest daughter of the World Organic Trade Fair BioFach in Nuremberg, has taken place in Tokyo since 2001. It is the only exhibition in Japan for this sector.
The 11th edition of BioFach Japan, the platform for organic food, natural cosmetics and organic textiles, welcomed 168 exhibitors from 10 countries and 16,119 visitors to the Tokyo Big Sight exhibition centre in 2011. The Organic Food Gallery, Vivaness Cosmetic Parlour, Organic Textile Street and Natural Eco Plaza present a comprehensive show for trade visitors from the wholesale and retail trade, import, catering and manufacturing.
Japan is classified as the third largest consumer market for organic and natural products and experts forecast high growth rates in the years ahead. This trend is supported by a number of factors characterizing the Japanese consumer:
